Ignacio E. Carballo is a professor, researcher, and expert consultant with over fifteen years of experience in Financial Inclusion and Fintech Finance for development. He is currently the Head of the “Crypto and Alternative Finance” segment PCMI, and Director of the academic Center of Alternative Finance at Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA).
He is economist with a cum-laude degree in from the University of Buenos Aires, Magister in Economic History and Economic Policies from the same university and holds a Master’s degree in Microfinance and Financial Inclusion from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (through a Carolina Foundation merit scholarship).
He has more than 15 years experience working in alternative finance for development, both from academic and private sector, having collaborated with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) and led international consulting projects funded by organizations such as INTAL-IADB, the Latin American Internet Association (ALAI), among others.
He is also a well-known thought leader and public speaker, with numerous speaking engagements in both the payments sector and academia each year.
